Thanksgiving has been a very sad time of year for me for sometime. Since Mom & Dad passed, I think of them quite often around the holidays. This morning was no different.
I got up early to make some Dumplings and a couple of appetizers. While I was making the dumplings, Aunt Glo called and told me that Mary Jean had passed away this morning. I can remember Mom and Mary Jean being very close. I just can't help but think that there are a couple of angels enjoying each others company once again.
Linda woke up with a severe migraine. I let her sleep until it was time to get ready to go to her sisters for Thanksgiving dinner. She was real weak and crying, still with a bad headache. There was no way she was going to be able to go anywhere. I called and informed her family we would not be able to make it to dinner. Now I'm looking at a lot of dumplings and appetizers. Soooooooooooooooooo guess what we had for dinner and supper and probably breakfast in the morning.
We made the Turkeys last year, this year we expanded to little pilgrim hats as well.
Cracker Barrel wishes they had dumplings this good.

Michael. Now I want the dad gum recipe for the dumplings. They look really good.
Hope Linda is feeling better. I know migraines well - NO FUN.
Yea you are right, your mom and Mary Jean have a lot of catching up to do. It truly was sad news, and I too think of your mom and dad a whole bunch. Later!
I hope Linda is feeling much better. I want to just lock myself in a dark room and sleep, when I have a migraine.
I really like the turkeys and pilgrims that you made, they are so cool. As for the dumplings,I love them. Your look very good. I have tried several times to make them, but they never turn out right. Mamaw Silver made the best I have ever tasted. Lisa's are a very close second. I can cook just about anything, but for some reason, dumplings just never turn out like I want them to be..... oh well.
Man that stinks linda had a migraine. I have had one for 4 days now and they are no cake walk. I hope everyone is better and your turkeys and hats were mighty fine!!!
Have a good week
You would make the pilgrims proud with hats like that!
love
